Strange Looking Mesh

There is a very important step in making a mesh in Split-FX that is not mentioned explicitly in the Tutorials or in the user manual.
Try these steps:
1. Orient the point cloud to be as close to perpendicular to the face as possible. (In some cases this involves breaking up the cloud into sections and analyzing each separately.
2. Go to the menu item "orient by current view"
3. Assign eye vector to "instrument"
4. Now make the mesh. With the first attempt at the mesh, set the dialog box to 3 points per triangle. Adjust as necessary to get the mesh to show the structural detail.
