Frequently Asked Question

This assumes you have already acquired a license for Split-Online. These instructions cover how to install the license.

Step 1 - Get a Request Code

Open a command window as-administrator and browse to the Split-Online installation directory. By default this will be C:\Program Files(x86)\Split Engineering\SplitOnline6 (replace 6 with the appropriate version number).

Execute the command: splitonlineservice rlmrequest as shown below. Press ENTER after the request code is shown, to terminate the program.

Copy the Request code. In this example, the request code is the string C148-15F4-BB0C-449A. Use the mouse to highlight the code and press ctrl+c to copy it to your clipboard (This article might help.)

Step 2 - Send the Request Code to your Hexagon sales contact

Paste the code copied in step 1 into an email.

The code is used to generate a license file that will be returned to you.

Step 3 - Install the license file

Copy the license file to the same installation directory from step 1.

Step 4 - Run Split-Online

In Help | About you will see the terms of the license, including the number of licensed modules and the expiration date.
